VOCATIONAL TRAINING ORDER

The following Vocational Training Order is made under section 6 of the Apprenticeship and Traineeship Act 2001 in relation to the recognised traineeship vocation of Furnishing – Blinds and Awnings.

Citation

The Order is cited as the Furnishing – Blinds and Awnings Order.

Order

The Order is given below.

(a) Term of training

(i) Full-time

Training shall be given for a nominal term of:

Nominal term

LMF21008-Certificate II in Blinds and Awnings

12 months

LMF31808-Certificate III in Blinds and Awnings – direct entry

24 months

LMF31808-Certificate III in Blinds and Awnings when the trainee already holds LMF21008-Certificate II in Blinds and Awnings

12 months

or until achievement of the relevant competencies to this Vocational Training Order is demonstrated.

(ii) Part-time

School based traineeships

LMF21008 Certificate II in Blinds and Awnings is suitable for delivery in schools.

School based part-time trainees will undertake a minimum of 100 days on-the-job training across a twenty-four (24 month) period within which trainees shall be required to demonstrate competencies relevant to the Vocational Training Order.

Non school based traineeships

The nominal term for a part-time traineeship is determined by the average weekly hours worked in the traineeship (including structured training) and the nominal full-time term for that traineeship.

The table below identifies the allowable hours which may be undertaken and the nominal terms for part-time traineeships.

(b) Probationary periods

The probationary periods, based on the nominal terms of training for traineeships established under this Vocational Training Order, shall be

(c) Competency outcomes

Trainees will be trained in and achieve competence in units of competency specified in LMF02 Furnishing Training Package (Version 2).

(d) Courses of study to be undertaken

Trainees will undertake LMF21008 Certificate II in Blinds and Awnings and LMF31808 Certificate III in Blinds and Awnings from LMF02 Furnishing Training Package (Version 2). 

Date of effect

The Order will take effect from the date of publication in the NSW Government Gazette.

Availability for inspection

A copy of the Vocational Training Order may be inspected at any State Training Services Regional Office of the Department of Education and Training or on the Internet at Apprenticeships and Traineeships.
