Addendum to CIB 183 - Advice on Certificate of Registration and learning resources and assessment materials (Property Development and Management Training Package)

The Property Services Industry Training Advisory Body (ITAB) NSW Ltd has provided amended advice relating to the recognised traineeship vocation of Property Development and Management posted under CIB 183.

Learning resources and assessment materials
TAFE NSW completed mapping of the Real Estate, Stock and Station, and Strata Management qualifications in 2002.

Additional mapping was completed in February 2004, to reflect changes in the new licensing requirements introduced by the NSW Office of Fair Trading.

Certificate of Registration
The Certificate of Registration is a requirement for those entering the industry and contributes to a full licence.

Successful completion of the Certificate III and IV in Property (Real Estate), Certificate III in Property (Livestock Services), Certificate IV in Property (Stock and Station Agency) and Certificate IV in Property (Strata Management) will satisfy the Certificate of Registration requirements approved by the NSW Office of Fair Trading under the Property Stock and Business Agents Act 2002.

There are two pre-requisites to gaining the certificate. That:

  • a person must be at least 16 years of age; and
  • an approved pre-employment course for each of the sectors must be successfully completed (the first 3 modules successfully completed in each of the traineeships satisfy this requirement)

The three curriculum modules that contribute to the certificate of registration for each of the industry sectors are:

Real Estate
17319A Work in the real estate sector
17319B Prepare for work in the property sector
17319C Communicate with property clients (Unit PRDRE35A Communicate effectively and accurately with clients)
Stock and Station
17320A Work in the stock and station sector
17319B Prepare for work in the property sector
17319C Communicate with property clients (Unit PRDRE35A Communicate effectively and accurately with clients)
Strata Management
17321A Work in the strata management sector
17319B Prepare for work in the property sector
17319C Communicate with property clients (Unit PRDRE35A Communicate effectively and accurately with clients)
