Revised Procedures for Lodgement of Applications to Establish Traineeships in the Security Industry

The pro-tem role of the Vocational Training Board in the approval and processing of security industry traineeship applications pursuant to CIB 141 has been reviewed. Following the conclusion of the Olympics period and a consequent decline in the numbers of applications there is no longer a requirement for the Board’s continued involvement in processing. Accordingly ITSCs will resume processing of applications from December 1, 2000.

The procedures for lodgement of applications to establish traineeships in the security industry set down in the attachment to CIB 141 are revised in Attachment A to this CIB.

Note: This change in no way diminishes the need to ensure that trainees have proper identification while undergoing on-the-job training. To assist with this requirement, ITSCs should ensure the prompt turnaround of applications.
