Cleaning Operations Traineeship Certificates II & III - Clarification of the Nominal Term of Training
The above traineeships were granted interim registration in May 1996 (Certificate II) and December 1997 (Certificate III). It was the industry’s intention at the time that the traineeships (Certificates II & III) be each of 12 months duration.

As part of a review of the nominal term of training for both traineeship categories, industry has identified two distinct pathways, which can lead to a Certificate III Cleaning Operations traineeship outcome. It will be the responsibility of the employer to select the most appropriate pathway.

The two pathways are as follows:

1. Undertaking a Certificate II traineeship in Cleaning Operations of 6 months duration and on completion registration in a Certificate III traineeship in Cleaning Operations, also of 6 months duration.
2. Direct entry into the Cert III Cleaning Operations traineeship for a nominal term of 1 year.

NoteNote: Part-time arrangements
Part-time arrangements for Certificate II trainees shall be pro-rata in accordance with arrangements under CIB 69, as required to meet weekly hours of work and training.

IVETS
Where an applicant for the Certificate III in Cleaning Operations has already completed the Certificate II Cleaning Operations, the agreed procedure is to enter a credit of 6 months towards the Certificate III traineeship.

PhoneFor any enquiries regarding this CIB, please contact the Vocational Training Tribunal Unit on (02) 9266 8579.
