Suspension of Apprenticeship/Traineeship by Consent (Mutual Suspension)

Issued: 21 December 2001

In order that consistency is maintained in mutual suspension arrangements the procedure details the process for dealing with the mutual suspension of an apprenticeship or traineeship.

Form VT13 (PDF 159KB) is to be used.

A “cooling off” period of 7 days applies during which either party may notify the Commissioner that they withdraw their consent. If this occurs the matter should be treated as a dispute and managed accordingly.
