Alterations - Training Contract

  1. Content
  2. The Training Contract (TC) has been agreed by all states and territories. The TC must be completed as it is, and questions must be answered in the way in which they are asked.

    No alterations may be made to the wording of the questions or to the training contract declaration.

    Applications received with alterations of this type will be returned to the AAC who must arrange for a new TC to be completed and lodged.

  3. Data
  4. The TC is a contract. Alterations to data entered on the TC, if required, are to be by done by neatly crossing out and writing in the new information. The employer and the apprentice/trainee MUST initial alterations to any of the following fields:

    1. Name of apprenticeship/traineeship
    2. Title and level of qualification
    4. Commencement date of the apprenticeship/traineeship
    5. Nominal duration of Training Contract
    6. Type of apprenticeship/traineeship
    7. Surname and given names
    11. Date of birth
    20. Is credit sought for the duration of the training contract?
    29. Legal name of employer
    30. Trading name of employer
    39. Type of employment arrangement
    41. Prior work with this employer
    42. Is the apprentice/trainee an existing worker?
    45. Name of the RTO

    Alterations to answers of other questions on the TC may be made either by the AAC or the assessing officer at the ITC. In these cases the signature of the person making the alteration and their location eg. ABEN AAC Gosford, are required. The source of the amended information should be attached to the form.

    If the above requirements are not complied with the TC will be returned to the AAC together with information on the reasons for non-acceptance. The AAC must then resolve the issues and satisfy the compliance requirements.

  5. Alterations required to TC data post acceptance by DET
  6. There will be instances where a DET assessing officer dealing with an application under Section 8 of the Apprenticeship and Traineeship Act may require alteration to information supplied on the TC. If changes are required to data supplied in any of the fields listed in points 2 above, the changes must be made and initialled by the parties to the contract (ie. employer and learner). The procedure will be:

    1. enter TC on IVETS as ‘Pending’ and create a file
    2. complete a proforma outlining the changes required and the reasons for them
    3. place a copy of both the TC, Training Plan Summary (TPS), and the proforma on the file.
    4. send the original TC and proforma to the AAC to organise the necessary changes and signatures.
